The introduction of pub...I love this topic, thanks<br /><br />The introduction of public health acts during the Victorian era certainly occurred, but they were episodic, slow and not always pursued by Councils. So perhaps it was up to influential people like Prince Albert to move things along more impressively. Otherwise most land owners would never look after their tenants.<br /><br />When my grandmother arrived in the East End of London before WW1, they had 10 children, 2 parents and an uncle living in a 2-bedroom flat.
